However, a presidential source said that the Nigerian leader was probably to leave London for Abuja next week.

The source also revealed that President Buhari spent a day at a hospital in the capital of Great Britain where he did a series of tests to determine the nature of his ear disorder and a course of treatment.

He rejected to name the hospital where the president underwent his checkup.

The doctors in London reportedly determined that Buhari’s ear got infected after one of Nigerian doctors “cleaned” his ear when he complained about a loss of hearing from that ear.

The source also noted that the president’s ear was cleaned again, and antibiotics prescribed to it.

Niger Delta militants announce ceasefire

– Joint Niger Delta Liberation Force has announced ceasefire

– The group demanded the release of Nnamdi Kanu, Sambo Dasuki, others

– The militants said they are for further dialogue if their demands are met

The new militant group Joint Niger Delta Liberation Force (JNDLF), which claimed affiliation with Niger Delta Avengers, has announced ceasefire, TheCable reports.

The militants had earlier vowed to launch six missiles in the region and to also lock down Nigeria’s airspace, but it said it resolved to do otherwise after the federal government proposed talks.

Meanwhile, the group said government would have to follow its demand if it wants the peace to be continued.

JNDLF listed demands that comprised the immediate release of former national security adviser Sambo Dasuki, setback of the order to freeze the bank accounts of the former militant leader Tompolo, formation of Matitime University in Okerenkoko, Delta stateand others.

The group said in a statement: “We shall continue to engage in dialogue if our demands are met. Our representatives for the dialogue, especially the governors and others will not betray our demands with the federal government. Any betrayal on their own part shall be viewed as betrayal of the entire region and we shall go after them immediately as they know our mode of operation in which they will not escape from us.

“There is no gainsaying that we made our earlier promise to launch six missiles simultaneously against some targeted areas. But this was waved aside as a result of appeals made to us through email by the federal government and some international nations to open talks with Buhari.

“We saw some genuine aspiration on the part of Buhari, who made several contacts to us to see reason with them over the issue of under-development of the region. And since he (Buhari) had set the ball rolling for a clear negotiation with us, there is no problem without solution. We have therefore declared ceasefire in order to negotiate with the government if it is a true reflection of what they have in mind to develop the Niger Delta region.”

The demands of the militants also comprise:

– Implementation of the report of the 2014 national conference

– Removal of Paul Boroh, coordinator of the presidential amnesty programme and should be replaced with Dr. Felix Tuodolo who has been in the struggle of non-violence since 1980 and he was the designer of the amnesty programme

– Ready to negotiate with the federal government for the sake of monetary benefit to us but how genuinely the government will develop the region is at the centre of our discussion and anything less than that we will continue our struggle without further warning to the federal government

– Immediate release of IPOB leader and Biafra Radio Director, Nnamdi Kanu

Ibe Kachikwu, Nigerian minister for petroleum, has said recently that that President Muhammadu Buhari had nominated a team of negotiators, led by the national security advisor, to commence talks with shareholders in the Niger Delta.

There had been rumours that President Buhari visited United Kingdom for secret meeting on Niger Delta crisis.

However, the government of the United Kingdom said it wasn’t aware of any meetings of the Nigerian president.

Tompolo Begs Niger Delta Avengers To Stop Attacks

Former militant leader, Government Ekpemupolo, alias Tompolo, has called on the Niger Delta Avengers (NDA) to halt the ongoing bombing of oil and gas installations in the Niger Delta region.

“I wish to once again write the members of the Niger Delta Avengers to embrace the Federal Government dialogue option as a way out of the brewing crisis in the Niger Delta region. As I have said before now, I do not know you and how to reach you except through the mass media, therefore it is high time you stopped the bombing and destruction of crude oil facilities in the Niger Delta region,” Tompolo said in a statement.

“One thing you guys may not be aware of is that you have not only succeeded in militarizing the Niger Delta region now, but also succeeded in given birth to so many negotiators and political jobbers within the government circle, who are very serious rumour peddlers in the country now.”

“Presently all communities in Gbaramatu kingdom have been deserted by residents for fear of a repeat of the 2009 military invasion, which still leave the communities in shambles. Even until now, the military has not returned the symbol of authority they took away from the Egbesu Shrine and other valuables in Oporoza community during the May 28, 2016 invasion.”

“It is pertinent to state that I have not heard and seen in any part of Nigeria, even the most volatile North Eastern part of Nigeria, where Boko Haram has been killing innocent people, the way and manner the Military desecrated the traditional worship centres in Gbaramatu Kingdom. This is a clear oppression and intimidation of the peace loving people of Gbaramatu Kingdom.

“Another dangerous dimension my traducers have introduced into this issue is the allegation that some of my closest men are coordinators of the Niger Delta Avengers. In addition, this is currently trending in the social media, specifically in the niaja.com platform, that Benji Ekeremor, Super and Owomor aka VIP are the coordinators of the Avengers,” he said.

“The truth of the matter is that I can no longer endure these blackmails from my traducers, as I have seen that they are not resting in their oars, as they have vowed to implicate me by all means necessary. God forbid!”

“To set the records straight, these are responsible men who had had skilled training under the Presidential Amnesty programme that are currently using their acquired skills to eke out a living. Therefore, the allegation that they are the coordinators of various axes of the Avengers is a malicious and mischievous one,” he said.

“On a final note, I wish to reiterate that you guys must stop the bombing and destruction of oil facilities in the Niger Delta region now and embrace the dialogue option from the Federal Government as it is (dialogue) the only pragmatic means in resolving a crisis no matter huge and complicated such crisis is. In addition, I believe fervently that the Government is serious and willing to end this re-occurring crisis in the Niger Delta region. Enough is enough,” he added.

10 Attitudes Ladies Display Online That Deny Them Husbands In Real Life

Whether you agree with me or not, social media is one of the places you can truly get to have a foresight of the kind of person you’re dealing with.

However, the attitudes displayed by most ladies online is a reflection of the kind of person they really are out there, so don’t let the mentally ill pukes blindfold you that some people don’t live their real lives online

Without wasting time, I shall discuss the attitudes displayed by ladies on social media that robs them of husbands in real life

1. Gold-digging Attitude

Some ladies are fond of putting up all sorts of gold digging status online just to showcase their class. To be very candid, no matter how rich a dude is, it’s very discouraging to see a lady putting up status that reeks of gold-digging.

This is a big turn off because such a dude will feel the lady is nothing but a money monger. This remind me when I saw a revelation that I should woo a lady on BBM, to my surprise she quickly put up the status “I’m allergic to broke dudes”. The man of God just shook his head and the rest is history

2. Being too Rude/Hostile

Many ladies are not accommodating and are usually very rude, pompous and narcissistic online. They talk rudely, dish out insults at any slight provocation and also treat both guys with good intentions and bad intentions like Dangote bag of cement. Out of ignorance, many of them don’t know that such an awkward attitude may deny them husbands.

3. Stereotyping Online Dudes as Players

A dude might stumble on a lady’s comment and finds it very thoughtful and brilliant and the dude decides to send a mail just to know more of her. The lady sees the mail and jumps into conclusion that all he wants is s*x. This myopic way of reasoning that every dude that sends friend request or mail only wants s*x has been immensely contributing to their lost of potential chairmen.

4. Being Too Impatient

Impatience often makes ladies send their future husbands away just because they couldn’t answer the question “where did you get my phone number or PIN?”. Last year, I added a lady on BBM and guess what? She was the first to PING me with the message “tell me where you got my PIN otherwise I will delete you right away”. Can you just imagine?

5. Incessantly Demanding for Recharge Card

This is a barbaric act that portrays a lady classless and shameless. A dude met a lady barely a week and she’s already demanding recharge card and data subscription to enable her chat with him. In fact, the one that annoys me most is seeing status update such as “”my data bundle is about to finish, who cares to renew it?” Many ladies don’t see anything bad in this act unknown to them that it depletes their chances of finding husband

6. Displaying Slut-ish Attitude

Before a dude decides to add a lady on social media, the first he will do is check her pictures to have a foresight of the kind of person he wants to add, and by the time he sees all sorts of boobs and buttocks revealing pictures, he concludes she’s irresponsible and nothing but a chop and clean mouth material.

7. Changing Relationship Status like Disco Light

Another thing that discourages potential chairmen from wooing a lady is frequent changing of relationship status.

If a lady often changes her relationship status from single to engaged, engaged to married and vice versa, this will put potential the chairmen into a state of confusion, therefore, some of them will lose interest in that process and they will feel she’s chameleon-like in nature

8. Displaying a Degree of Dumbness

Just as my friend always say, If they want to date a lady, they will like to have her facebook ID and check the content of what she posts online and by the time they see updates that reeks of dumbness and illiteracy, they will just jejely wear their boxers and withdraw themselves.

9. Making Unrealistic Qualities in a Man

Honestly speaking, some ladies usually found on social media looking for 1,000 qualities in just a man. He must be rich, handsome, l

75% of Nigerian coaches are hypertensive – Bewarang

President of the Nigeria Football Coaches Association, Bitrus Bewarang has expressed shock at the sudden death of former Chief coach of the Super Eagles Amodu Shuaibu, a few days after the death of Coach Stephen Keshi who, like Amodu, also died in Benin City.

Bewarang, a seasoned coach said the frequent deaths in the coaches ranks should not come as a surprise because of the manner coaches were handled by their employers in Nigeria.

“Just when we are trying to come to terms with Keshi’s death, Amodu is now gone. The question is who’s next?” Bewarang started. “It’s high time the federal government wades into cases affecting coaches. In Nigeria, football coaches are hired, used and fired with employers most often, not fulfilling their contractual obligations.

“Many coaches, both at national and club levels are owed huge sums of money, long after their disengagements. By the nature of their jobs, 75% of Nigerian coaches are prone to hypertension and I expect they are treated fairly in order to curb this unfortunate incident of sudden deaths among us,”Bewarang posited.

BlackBerry’s AtHoc releases new crisis communications platform

Canadian smart phone maker, BlackBerry Limited has announced that AtHoc, a division of BlackBerry, has released a new version of its market-leading crisis communications platform.

These new capabilities give AtHoc customers additional pre-planning resources and automated processing of crisis communication activities, to help resolve critical incidents with less manual intervention and fewer improvised, on-the-spot decisions.

It also assists staff members in preparing for a wider range of emergency scenarios more easily, and in responding to crises faster with fully-automated business rules, outreach, and response.

“Critical events are inherently complex, and our customers have been asking for faster and more efficient ways to manage their crisis communications,” Joseph Ng, Senior Director of Marketing and Strategy at AtHoc. said, adding that, “They want to be able to customize their workflow so that users understand the nature of threats sooner, and alerts are escalated faster. It’s all about business continuity and resilience, and we are proud to address those needs directly with this new release from AtHoc.”

AtHoc consistently monitors and evaluates the crisis communication discipline, and this updated platform directly addresses some of the core 2016 Crisis Communication Trends. It significantly simplifies the management of emergency situations with several new enhancements including:

*Real-Time Alert Rules which enables users to create rules for forwarding alerts received from external organizations and sources.

It also helps operators to predefine response processes on common incident types. For example, a hospital receiving a notification from fire or police that a major crisis has led to a large number of injuries will not lose time initializing and launching its own alerts.

The incoming notifications will automatically be routed to the appropriate medical and administrative personnel.

A recent example of the need to plan and coordinate communication processes is January 2016’s Winter Storm Jones, as described here.

*Automated Staff Mustering, a new fill count capability automatically contacts a roster of staff members who possess the right skills and training until the required number of people has been reached, and acknowledged their assignments.

At that point, the system stops seeking additional respondents, freeing up resources and personnel for other priorities. For example, in a chemical plant, all available qualified workers can be summoned to the scene of a problem, until enough people have responded to cover all of the contingencies.

*Management Alerting, a pre-configured escalation rules that automatically alert supervisors when line staff cannot be reached, or decline an assignment for some reason.

This enables managers to analyze an issue, and communicate the situation up the chain, requesting assistance from senior individuals.

In an IT organization, as an example, if a critical system goes down and the normally assigned technician is unavailable, qualified managers up to the CIO can be called to step in and fill the gap, or activate a predetermined contingency plan.

*Severity-Codified Notifications. Easy-to-use templates enable organizations to designate the level of severity when setting up and issuing an alert.

The look and feel of the alert will automatically correspond to the seriousness of the situation. Supervisors can receive emails with a familiar red headers at the beginning of the crisis, to denote extreme urgency, in addition to any other forms of contact.

The personnel contacted during the fill count can also receive supplementary emails with the red headers. However, people told to wait and be available for later shifts will receive companion emails with orange or yellow headers, indicating a lower level of urgency.

Together, these new innovations significantly improve rapid response time by turning complex business processes into efficient, effective, crisis communications to

Why Nigeria should harness indigenous innovations for inclusive devt

THE 2016 edition of Nigerian Internet Governance Forum ended in Abuja last week with stakeholders in the Nigeria ICT sector urging Africa the Nigeria government to devise its own strategy to harness her indigenous innovations for inclusive development and smarter Nigeria.

With the theme: Harnessing Internet Governance for Inclusive Development and Smarter Nigeria, the participants were of the opinion that for Nigeria to fully realize its potentials and sustainable development goals by 2030, it must create the enabling environment for the ICT sector to thrive and power other sectors of the economy.

Internet governance

The Nigeria Internet Governance Forum serves as veritable platform for stakeholders in the sector to brainstorm on the pertinent topical issues regarding internet governance with a view to forming a national agenda
in preparation for the global Internet Governed Forum, coming up in December this year. Running in its fifth consecutive edition hosted by multi-stakeholders since inception in 2012, the forum was also the first global preparatory NIGF forum since the renewal of the mandate in 2015.

Minister of Communications Technology, Adebayo Shittu, while speaking at the occasion, said the forum was an interesting time when the Nigeria internet community is tinkering with a new internet governance system. He stated that the NIGF also provides opportunities for developing countries to engage in debate and facilitate a common understanding of how to maximize internet opportunities and address risk and challenges that arise.

The Minister who was represented by head of e-Governance, Tope Fashode, said that there had been several important discussions over the period which were aimed at realigning Nigeria with global position on internet governance and charged participants to maximize the opportunity provided by the event to foster new ways Nigeria can realize its potential using the internet, assuring them that the outcome will form basis for public discussions both locally and globally.

In his paper presentation, the Managing Director of SystemSpecs, John Obaro said for Nigeria to compete globally it must begin to look inwards and devise solutions to its peculiar problems without necessarily waiting for foreign solutions. As an industry, Obaro, who was represented by Uche Obiofuma said the forum should serve as a unique time and opportunity for stakeholders in the sector to showcase what we have as Nigerians.

In his own presentation, Dr. Chris Uwaje, while corroborating with other speakers, said for Nigeria to experience technology intervention in the country, government must create the devices, environment and the ecosystem, which is what Internet of Things represents.

For him, internet of things is not new and so, Nigerians should focus on how to respond and engage in internet of things as a thing of mind. He maintained that Africa must start reinventing the will by doing things by itself, solving African problems with African solutions. For the NCC EVC , Prof. Umar Dambatta, the forum was timely as it provided multi-stakeholders the platform to contribute towards the development of NIGF.

How to make your phone's battery last longer

Fed up with charging your phone every night? We offer some simple tips and tricks you can use to make your phone's battery last longer, plus point out the battery saving myths that won't help you at all.
Even in 2016, it's tough to go much longer than 24 hours without charging your smartphone. Better battery technology simply hasn't arrived yet, which means it's down to software and settings to eke out the limited power for as long as possible. See also: the best phones you can buy right now
Unfortunately, you're never going to get a week's use out of a smartphone because of those big, bright screens along with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and 3G. However, by following our advice and making a few changes to your phone's settings (and maybe even changing the way you use your phone) you should be able to extend its battery life by a good chunk.
These days there's a huge choice of portable USB power banks, which you can use to charge your phone on the go. Plus, if you have a popular handset, you may find there are specific cases which incorporate batteries to give you extra power at the expense of only a little more bulk and weight. Also see: What is Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0?
What we're not going to suggest here is to use your phone less. Our aim is to show you how to reduce your handset's power consumption without making it unusable.
So, here are 10 ways you can boost your smartphone's battery life, plus the battery saving myths that won't help at all. See also: Amazing expert tips on how to properly charge your phone.
Boost battery life: 1. Dim the screen brightness or use auto brightness
You love your smartphone's large, colourful display, but it's the battery's mortal enemy. More than any other component of your phone, the display consumes battery life at a devastating pace. Most phones include an auto-brightness feature that automatically adjusts the screen's brightness to suit ambient lighting levels.
This mode uses less power than constantly running your screen at full brightness would, of course, but you'll get even better results by turning your screen's brightness down to the lowest setting that you can tolerate and leaving it there. Even if you do nothing else we suggest, following this one tip will extend the life of your battery dramatically.

Boost battery life: 2. Keep the screen timeout short
Under your phone's display settings menu, you should find an option labeled 'Screen Timeout' or something similar. (On an iPhone, look for Auto-Lock in the General settings menu.) This setting controls how long your phone's screen stays lit after receiving input, such as a tap.
Every second counts here, so set your timeout to the shortest available time. On most Android phones, the minimum is 15 seconds. If your screen timeout is currently set to 2 minutes, consider reducing that figure to 30 seconds or less. On an iPhone, the minimum you can set is 1 minute.

Boost battery life: 3. Turn off Bluetooth
No matter now much you love using Bluetooth with your hands-free headset, your wireless speaker or activity tracker, the extra radio is constantly listening for signals from the outside world. When you aren't in your car, or when you aren't playing music wirelessly, turn off the Bluetooth radio. This way, you can add an hour or more to your phone's battery life.

Boost battery life: 4. Turn off Wi-Fi
As with Bluetooth, your phone's Wi-Fi radio is a serious battery drainer. While you will at times need to use your home or office Wi-Fi connection rather than 3G or 4G for internet access and other data services, there's little point in leaving the Wi-Fi radio on when you're out and about. Toggle it off when you go out the door, and turn it back on only when you plan to use data services within range of your Wi-Fi network. Android users can add the Wi-Fi toggle widget to their home screen to make this a one-tap process, or swipe down from the top of the screen (twice if you have Lollipop.)
In iOS it's easier than ever to toggle Bluetooth

Boost battery life: 5. Go easy on the location services, and GPS
Another big battery sucker is apps using GPS, Wi-Fi and mobile data for monitoring your location. As a user, you can revoke apps' access to location services, or set levels (in Android) to determine how much power they use. In Settings > Location, you can choose High accuracy when you need it, or Battery saving when you don't.

Boost battery life: 6. Don't leave apps running in the background

Multitasking - the ability to run more than one app at a time - is a powerful smartphone feature. It can also burn a lot of energy, because every app you run uses a share of your phone's processor cycles (but this isn't true of all apps - see the myths section below).
Some apps themselves are particularly heavy on battery life. For example, Facebook has confirmed it is investigating reports that its iOS app could be to blame for significant battery drain, and is working on a fix.
"We have heard reports of some people experiencing battery issues with our iOS app," Facebook told TechCrunch. "We're looking into this and hope to have a fix in place soon."
By killing apps that you aren't actually using, you can drastically reduce your CPU's workload and cut down on its power consumption.
In Android, tap the multi-tasking button - usually the right-most of the three icons at the bottom of the screen - and you can swipe away apps to close them.
In iOS, double-tap the Home button so the multitasking screen appears, then swipe upwards to close the app.

Both iOS and Android now have battery monitors, so you can check exactly how much each app is using and easily spot those which are using too much power. Then you can either uninstall them or simply make sure you quit them when you're not actually using them.
Boost battery life:.

7. Don't use vibrate
Prefer to have your phone alert you to incoming calls by vibrating rather than playing a ringtone? We understand the inclination; unfortunately, vibrating uses much more power than playing a ringtone does. After all, a ringtone only has to make a tiny membrane in your phone's speaker vibrate enough to produce sound.
In contrast, the vibration motor rotates a small weight to make your whole phone shake. That process takes a lot more power. If you don't want to be disturbed audibly, consider turning off all notifications and leave the phone in view so you can see when a new call is coming in. This approach is as courteous to your battery as it is to your friends and colleagues.

Boost battery life: 8. Turn off non-essential notifications
It seems as though almost every app now polls the internet in search of updates, news, messages, and other information. When it finds something, the app may chime, light up your screen and display a message, make your LED blink, or do all of the above. All of these things consume energy.
You probably don't want to turn off notifications about new text messages or missed calls, but turning off superfluous notifications will help your battery last a little longer, and it will eliminate pointless distractions throughout your day.

Boost battery life: 9. Push email
Having your phone constantly check if there's new email is a waste of power. Instead of allowing email to be pushed to your phone at any time, why not change the setting to fetch mail every so often - maybe 15 or 30 minutes if you don't need to respond immediately to anyone?

Boost battery life: 10. Power-saving modes
Depending on your phone, you may find the manufacturer has provided power-saving features that go beyond anything available in Android by default. (Apple's iOS doesn't have a battery saving mode.)
Enabling a battery-saving mode manages the phone's various power-sapping features for you. It might, for example, prevent apps from updating in the background, dim your screen, reduce the screen timeout setting, disable on-screen animations, and turn off vibration. By default, this mode usually turns on when your battery level drops to 20 percent,

Other tips for saving battery power
Hidden away in settings menus are usually plenty of options for disabling things like sensors or features that you never use, and more.
Most of these will make a minimal impact on battery life, but combined, they can become significant.
On an iPhone you can disable the Raise to Speak feature in the Siri settings, which is said to increase battery life.
Finally, as we've mentioned, it's worth rebooting your phone from time to time, rather than leaving it in sleep mode all the time. This can sometimes cure otherwise inexplicable battery draining problems.
Battery saving myths exposed
• Force-closing apps doesn't always help: An app running in the background actually won't use very much battery power at all, and by force-closing it you merely drain more power when relaunching it causes it to reload its code to the phone's RAM
• Wi-Fi can help battery life at times: If you have a strong Wi-Fi signal, your phone can use it rather than GPS to determine its location for the apps that require it. And Wi-Fi uses less battery power than GPS
• Disabling Google Now and Siri won't help: These services drain power only when you use them and they are listening for your command; if you don't use them much, don't lose out on a useful feature by disabling them
• You don't have to use the charger that came with your phone: A cheap charger can potentially damage your handset, but most third-party chargers won't cause any issues with your battery, and many will actually charge it faster
