See The Face Of The Wicked Woman Who Cut Off Boy’s Penis In Minna (Photo)

The picture above is of Bara’atu, the woman who cut off a little boy’s penis in Minna, Niger State.

The woman is not the boy’s mother. Bara’atu allegedly cut off her neighbour’s Son’s penis out of jealousy.

She has been handed over to security men in the state.

This is one of the most graphic photos I’ve seen in a long while. According to Zuma Times who shared the video, a mother in Minna, Niger State allegedly severed a little boy’s testicle.

Meanwhile, the little boy is still alive and has been admitted at IBB Specialist Hospital in Minna.

New global ICT trends: How technology can aid faster economic recovery

Nigeria’s economy over the years has been predicated upon crude oil production and sales. But going by current realities, oil is no longer a viable economic mainstay. Globally, the price has continued to nosedive and economies which made the mistake of putting their eggs in one basket are quickly looking for a way out. Diversification, has however, been identified as the viable solution and that is where Nigeria is headed. Eventually, knowing what to diversify into is as important as the diversification itself.

Meanwhile, several Information and Communications Technology, ICT professionals have argued that Technology is the alternative to what oil cannot give Nigeria at the moment. They back up these arguments with the turnaround several economies of the world are recording now, courtesy of technological developments.

That argument was also carried further, Monday, when one of Nigeria’s national dailies, BusinessDay Newspapers gathered the best of industry practitioners in Lagos to discuss the possibility of ICT presenting viable alternative to oil.

The event under the theme “Beyond oil: ICT as a viable alternative” xrayed the potentials that support ICT as a viable candidate for this replacement and also highlighted some of the bottlenecks that could militate against immediate impact.

Interestingly, with every speaker, from the Founder and CEO of Computer Warehouse Group, Mr Austin Okere, CEO Rack centre, Mr Ayotunde Coker, Director Lagos Angel Networks, Mr Collins Onuegbu, CEO MTN Nigeria, Mr Ferdi Moolman, the direction was clear-Nigeria should upgrade as a full digital economy. A digital economy is essentially a global network of new economic activities enabled by technology and data. This new economy has the potentials of opening a wide horizon of possibilities that were unknown or unthinkable before.

Incidentally, Nigeria has witnessed a bit of that transformation with the liberalisation and opening up of the telecommunications sector of the economy in 2001. That move threw open several other sub sectors like the financial institutions, e -commerce, data centers, computer games, voice over IP communication, among others that leveraged on the possibilities of technology to blossom.

Global trends

The good news is that other current global ICT trends are still suggesting that the power of technology innovations are heavily leaned towards the emerging markets, where Nigeria obviously calls the shots. Coker, the Rack Centre CEO, said that his company has carried out researches to benchmark other reports and found out that there is an addressable market in the data centre business. For him, the data centre business was going to explode in the country. The reason according to him was that the operators are suddenly realising that if their networks fail and their customers churn, they were going to lose tremendous businesses.

Again, he disclosed that same way, they are beginning to understand that trusting their networks with local based data centres was far more profitable and reliable than hosting their networks abroad where it will surely take a few rigmaroles to recover if there is a sudden occurrence. Having discovered this trend, Coker said Rack centre was going to invest over $200 million on its data centre network, in addition to the hundred millions of dollars they have spent already.

Angel Investors

Collins Onuegbu in his own observation of current ICT trends said that Nigeria was fast leaving behind the unfortunate experience where new businesses suffered for several years, to scale, due to lack of funding and support. For him the trend being experienced globally is the gradual rise in the number of Angel investors who put seed funds into start-up businesses in order to help the scale.

His Lagos Angel Network, boasts of a pool of companies and businessmen who have achieved business edge somewhere and decided to put money together to help growing businesses. So far, the network has provided funds and as wel

NYSC Members Made To Carry Their Beds On Their Heads & March Around Camp For Waking Up Late (Photos)

Youth Corp Members going through orientation in camp, have been made to serve a form of punishment for daring not to get up from slumber at the required time.

These National Youth Service Corps members did not get up on time to partake in mandatory morning activities and were given a punishment to serve.

Their punishment was to carry their beds on their head and march round the parade ground several times in the full view of everyone.

After marching round many times, they were then asked to lay their beds in the middle of the parade ground and continue their sleep there.

Although the particular camp ground this took place is not yet known, social media users have found the development a very funny one.

15 Ways to Make Your Smart Phone Battery Last Longer

1. Avoid keeping your Phone in a hot or heated surface

Sounds strange? Yes we know !!!

Most smartphones have battery made of either Lithium ion or Lithium Polymer battery. These two elements used for production of cell phone batteries are badly affected when there are exposed to heat and this leads to drastic drain of the battery.

2. Use power saving mode

Recent Smartphones come with power saving mood to conserve your cell battery, this feature limits you to necessary functions like call, messages, time, contacts etc. It saves your battery up to 90%, releasing more power to your cell.  So when you dont need internet service in your mobile phone put it in power saving mood.

3. Put off your phone from vibrate function

When your phone is on vibration it tends to use additional battery power. Save your battery by switching it off.

4. Lower the brightness

Phone brightness consumes 30% of your battery. Make your battery last longer by setting the screen brightness to auto so that it can adjust to indoor and outdoor lighting.

5. Switch off the GPS Tracking

Only use your GPS when navigation and location services are necessary. GPS tracking consumes a lot of energy, tracking your location via radio waves and satellites will surely give you a dead cell.
6. Always upgrade your Apps

Try as much as you can not to let your apps fall behind the times, Keep your apps updated. This helps in battery optimization thereby making your phone battery last longer. Erase the old apps to free up memory. All these saves battery.

7. Turn off all auto updates

Most smartphones especially iPhones try to keep you updated by automatically installing new version of apps when they come out. Visit the store of the device you are using to deactivate.

8. Set your auto-lock to 30 seconds

When you use your screen it takes a lot of battery so limit the activities of your phone to 30 seconds to save power.

9. Switch off other location services

When location service is  ”ON”  the phone gets hotter, so turn it off to prevent battery drain.

10. Switch off Bluetooth

When your Bluetooth is not in use turn it off to save power.

11.Don’t be so addicted to your mobile

If your mobile phone isn’t your office or work tool, you really need to let it be. You mustn’t be on it every minute. Think of more useful venture to spend your time.

12. Avoid the use of fake batteries

The dangers of fake batteries are enormous, so use only original batteries.

13. Turn off music equalizer

Most smartphones have equalizer which makes music sound great. However it drains a lot of battery, please turn it off to save power.

14. Uninstall used or unnecessary apps.

15. Finally, quit all apps that is not in use. Leaving them on your screen drains your battery.

With all these tips in place be assured that your phone battery will last longer than expected.

6 things you didn’t know you could do on Facebook

Remember when Facebook was just a place you’d go to post a silly message on a friend’s wall? As with any growing company, the social network has done an especially good job at expanding its reach.
Facebook has become a place you go to for news as well as friend updates, not to mention viral videos and event planning.

But did you know that you can also use Facebook and its Messenger app to play chess, shoot hoops, and even send special birthday videos? Yes, like Snapchat, Facebook continually delights with surprising new ways to make us even more addicted than we already are.

Click through for six hidden Facebook features that will forever change how you use the site as culled from Refinery29.

1. Create A Personalized Birthday Video

Why just post “happy birthday” on a friend’s wall when you can record a video for them? Facebook’s birthday video cam lets you choose from among six fun, birthday-themed background filters and record a special 15-second video. Just go to a friend’s Facebook page on their birthday, and go to write a post like you normally would. You’ll see a blue bar pop up that says, “Record a birthday video.” Press that, and go crazy!

2. Play Chess

Introduce some competitive fun to your messages by breaking out the chess board. Type @fbchess in a thread on Messenger, and a chess board will show up on screen, designating who is black and who is white. It’s not as lifelike as a Harry Potter game of Wizard’s Chess, but it’ll do.

3. Save Articles Or Posts For Later

Unless you’re scrolling through Facebook on the sofa, you probably don’t have time to read all the articles that your friends have posted. That’s where its handy bookmarking feature comes in. Click the downward arrow next to a post and tap, “Save link.” You can read your saved links later by going to the “Saved” tab on your “Favorites” bar (in the app, you can access the “Saved” tab by first tapping the “More” button in the bottom right).

4. Shoot Hoops

Warning: This is insanely addictive. If you send a basketball emoji to a friend in Messenger, click on the basketball. You have now entered your own game (free throws only) of hoops. The score goes back to zero each time you miss, but you get a limitless number of tries. So you could actually play forever, and ever, and ever

5. Pay For Drinks

Once you’ve entered your debit card (go to your phone’s Settings and then Facebook to do so), you can send payments and request money from friends through Messenger. There isn’t much that differentiates payments within Messenger from those on Venmo, but if you made drink plans on Messenger, it can be an easy way to keep the conversation (and its ensuing tab) in one place.

6. Find Dinner Recipes

The latest updates to Facebook Search made it easier to find many things, but recipe searching especially got a boost. Search for a meal, or specify by category (smoothies, for example), and you’ll see relevant recent posts from friends, as well as popular articles and top posts from restaurants and media.

10 things ladies look out for in men before they marry them

Lots of marriages fail these days as a result of the unrealistic goals and expectations that couples set before marriage. Many people venture into marriage for the wrong reasons; some cannot even say why they are in it.

Ladies most times are to be blamed here; they always seem to have certain standards the men are expected to meet before they agree to marry them. They keep chasing vague things and pay little or no attention to important matters. Many women get married because of the pressure placed on them by their family members or the society.

Some of them feel the need to get married because their mates are doing it and they want the man they would end up with to fit some fictional characters in their heads. These wrong choices or criteria often make them fall into the wrong hands and ruin their chances of being happy.

Find below some of the weird things ladies check in men before marrying them:

1. Height

This is the first thing a woman is likely to say when you ask her about the things she desires in a man. Every woman wants men that are tall. No one wants a short man.

Some women would even say they cannot date men that are taller than they. Thus, when they meet men who are tall and have one or two traits that fit their vague qualities, fall in love with them.

2. Well-furnished apartment

Ladies do not want to settle for less now when they are planning for marriage. Every woman wants a man who is successful and has different properties to show with it. Men who have their own houses are presumed to be better than men who don’t.

These houses have to be furnished to taste and classy for the women to fit into them. If a man does not have this or something close enough, some women would not agree to marry them.

3. Wealth

Every woman wants a man that can see to her financial needs. Money is important to a lot of women out there and they would not settle down with men who are struggling financially.

Men who cannot meet their needs may not even make the list of suitors they would be considering. It does not matter whether the man has some hidden demons as long as he has enough money in his account.

4. Cars
Now, it would amaze you to discover that some ladies would not date men who do not have a car. As soon as you approach them on with your ‘leggedbenz’ and they do not see you holding a car key, it is a no-no.

Some ladies love comfort and would not trade anything for it. Before you stand a chance to talk to them at all, your appearance has to speak a ton about you.

5. Romance

Some ladies simply love it when they meet guys who are romantic; they love men who would read lines of poems to them and make them feel like princesses. They enjoy the attention they get from men like these and would immediately fall for their gentle and romantic gestures.

As far as some of these women are concerned, the men’s ability to show love and care while being romantic is more than enough.

6. Citizenship
As soon as some ladies get to know the guys asking them out are not Nigerians or they have dual citizenship, love happens. Ladies love the concept of marrying foreigners or men who would give them the fair chance of stepping outside the shores of this country.

You would be shocked to discover that some ladies would be willing to marry some men as soon as they know they have passports to other countries.

7. Presence of six packs

Women certainly love men who are physically fit; they believe guys that are well-built are manly and would be able to perform better than men who are not. The presence of six packs would make some of the ladies melt and get wet on the spot. They would always choose a man with a firm body over a man with a pot belly.

8. Sexual perform

Women no doubt love men whose strength in bed can be likened to that of a stallion; they love men who can drive them to different peaks of desire when it comes to sexual activities.

Knowing fully well that many women end up cheating in marriage as a result of sex, they would rather go for men who would make them go wild with desire and leave their bodies limp after being satisfied.

9. Occupation

Many ladies want to get married to men who have good jobs. They will always ask about the men’s place of work within the first few minutes they meet and would use the details to map out their plans about them. Men who work in oil and gas companies are seen as better suitors as compared to those who teach.

In the same light, bankers are preferred to mechanics. Women love the idea of being known with men who have good jobs in the society.

10. Talent and fame

Some ladies want to marry men who are talented and famous. It is highly ridiculous finding women who are ready to spend the rest of their lives with certain men because of the talents the men have and how famous they have become.

Therefore, it is not strange when you see some women who have dreams of getting married to some artistes and public figures they do not know personally. As long as they have talents they like, then getting married to them is no big deal.

Army planning to overthrow Buhari's government - JNDLF

The Joint Niger Delta Liberation Force (JNDLF), a body of different militant groups has warned President Muhammadu Buhari

– The group made this known on Tuesday, June 21 while revealing that some top army officers are planning to sack Buhari’s government through a coup d’état

JNDLF, which claimed responsibility for the threats issued on launching a missile attack which caused pandemonium in the Niger Delta region, stressed that people behind the coup plot were getting ready to instigate anarchy in the region, as part of their ulterior motive to overthrow Buhari’s government.

The militants revealed this in an electronic statement that some high ranking army officers were already involved in the plan of the coup, because they approached the leaders of their group, with an appeal that they should continue with the ongoing attacks on oil installations and petroleum pipelines.

JNDLF alleged that the “coup plotters” wanted to use the continued destruction of oil facilities as the real reason to overthrow the federal government.

The electronic statement released, was signed by those who identified themselves as ‘General’ Torunanaowei Latei (Creek Network Coordinator); ‘General’ Agbakakuro Owei-Tauro (Pipeline Bleeding Expert); ‘General’ Akotebe Darikoro (Commander, General Duties) and ‘General’ Pulokiri Ebikade (Intelligence Bureau).

The militant group stated: “We are constraint to let the cat out of the bag today that PresidentMohammadu Buhari should be wary about the security of this country as some military men are making move to remove him from power by instigating civil unrest in the country.

“Some top military men through their civil agents approached us to cause and continue the vandalization of the oil and gas pipelines in the Niger delta region so as to use as an excuse to take over the government from democracy to military rule in the country.

“We said no as such plan will not work and not in conformity with our genuine desire of agitation. The military want to disgrace him now and let him quickly look into the

issues and make pronouncement for his administration to be in peace.

“Let president should analyze certain memo from the military concerning Niger delta region before taking action or otherwise the military will use that as a platform to remove him. We know the issue of Niger delta is political and we preferred

political solution to resolve it but if the president refused.”

The group further added that President Buhari should apply the necessary measures to solve the Niger Delta region problems, in order to for the ploy of these top military to fail.

It said:

“We received several calls unknown to persuade us to continue the bombing and that when succeeded in overthrowing the government we will be placed on a better position, we said capital NO!

“When asked of their names they are above Major General’s level. They refused to disclose their names but their intonations seem like yoruba and Hausa. Our agitation is not for selfish interest but for the overall benefit of the Niger delta region.

“We’ll not kidnap any person, kill or hostage taking of any expatriate in the country but will continue our agitation with clear determination to actualize our course in Nigeria.

“We believe their sinister plan because their is ceasefire in the region for dialogue, but since then the attitude and actions of the service chiefs show that such plan could work for them.”

In a news that came up today, some groups of Niger Delta militants asked the federal government to be ready for more attacks in the oil-rich region of Nigeria as the two-week ceasefire between them and the government comes to an end.

CHAI Presidency is not a joking matter, Buhari reveals

President Muhammadu Buhari may have revealed how hot his seat is as he disclosed on Tuesday evening that leading Nigeria is not a joke.

He also called for prayers from well-meaning Nigerians saying this is one sure way the country can grow and overcome its current economic challenges.

The Cable reports that the president made the disclosure while breaking his fast with some members of his cabinet at the presidential villa, Abuja.

Buhari said this just when the federal government has sacked resident doctors in government hospitals a day after they embarked on a nationwide strike.

To him, the Ramadan period is an opportunity for leaders to be more conscious of their actions.

He said: “Leading the people is not a joke. It means accepting responsibilities for good or wrong.

“We need a lot of prayers. This month of prayers and service to God, let’s keep on these prayers all the times, believing that God in His infinite mercy will listen to our prayers, give us peace, security and better the economy once more so that we can quickly rebuild and even do more for the  country.

“With the nation’s economy going down… We haven’t developed the agriculture, we’re still trying to talk on those who’ll come and develop the solid mineral for us.

“It’s no news that we are the biggest country in Africa, we’re the economy engine of Africa, which are true by the way. But, we must always be patriotic in our dealings with others.

“It strengthens our resolve to build our country to make it stronger and to make sure that the incoming generations are sufficiently motivated to be patriotic.”

While commending Yakubu Gowon, former head of state, for striving to preserve the unity of the country, the president urged militants and those agitating for Biafra republic to ruminate on the civil war in which over two million lives were lost.

“We have to reflect on the historical antecedent to appreciate what is before us now and what we intend to leave for our children and our grandchildren.

“The militants in their various homes need to reflect very seriously on what happened between 1967 and 1970. About two millions Nigerians lost their lives.

“And at that time, as young military officers, you hardly heard of anything about petroleum or whatever money you got from it.

“Look at what General Gowon said: ‘To keep Nigeria one is a task that must be done’ and every soldier whether he has been to school or not knew what the General meant. But, we were quarreling with our brothers, we were not fighting an enemy and then somebody is saying that once again he wants Biafra.

“I think this is because he was not born when there was Biafra.”
