1. At least six persons were killed and several others injured after suspected Boko Haram suicide bomber attacked ‎Damboa mosque, in Damboa local government area of Borno. Those wounded were evacuated to a hospital for treatment.

2. Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai has revealed that his men have flushed out Boko Haram members in the country. He said the remnants have been chased to the boarders of Nigeria with Niger Republic, Chad and Cameroon and will never return again.


3. President Muhammadu Buhari has vowed that anyone who stole Nigeria’s hard-earned money will never have peace of mind as he would continue to hunt them. He said his administration would be transparent to Nigerians in its resolute commitment to restore the economic fortunes of the country and deliver prosperity to them.

4. The Bring Back Our Girls Group has lamented the inability of President Muhammadu Buhari to meet any of its demands, a year after assuming office. BBOG said it was extremely disappointing that none of the five demands had been carried out and the President seemed not to care about it.

5. Members of Road Transport Employers of Nigeria and National Union of Road Transport Workers engaged themselves on Friday in a bloody clash over daily fees charged by the drivers’ union in Ibadan. Dangerous weapons were used by the two warring sides in the fight that lasted for several hours. It was gathered that problem erupted when some young taxi cab drivers who enjoy the patronage of politicians refused to pay to members of NURTW, alleging that they were being extorted by the union.

6. The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun has stated that the current government is so kind that it can give out the presidential jet to citizens for hire. Oyegun faulted the claims in some quarters that the current government is spending money on frivolous things, adding that Buhari has never acquired any official car since he took over power.


7. Business mogul and former Abia State Governor, Chief Orji Uzor Kalu, has said that President Muhammadu Buhari’s anti-corruption war was on point and not selective as being perceived by many. According to Kalu, who is on the EFCC list, the President has the right to demand explanation on how the nation’s money was spent by those being investigated.

8. A Federal High Court sitting in Owerri, Imo State has affirmed the election of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State.

Justice A.I Allagoa of, while ruling on the matter filed by Mr. Friday Nwosu against,Ikpeazu, Uche Ogah, PDP and INEC, on alleged forgery of tax documents by GovernorIkpeazu, ruled that the plaintiff, (Nwosu) was unable to prove that the tax documents were forged. The court went further to dismis the matter.

9. A Federal High Court in Abuja Friday upheld the candidacy of former Aviation Minister, Stella Oduah, Senator Andy Ubah and others for last year’s national and state legislative election in Anambra State.Justice Adeniyi Ademola, in a judgment Friday, held that the list of candidates, containing the name of Oduah, Andy Ubah and others, submitted to the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the People’s Democratic Party was the authentic list of candidates.

10. Super Eagles of Nigeria Vice-captain, Ahmed Musa has officially signed for English premiership champions, Leicester City on a four-year deal worth £18million.

The former CSKA Mosco of Russia winger passed his medical on Friday to sign a contract regarded as club record transfer deal.
